Early Life
Joseph Paris would have been born around 1670, given the birth-dates of his children. Currently I don't know who is parents were, though I wonder if Joseph's father might have been Isaac Parish, the uncle of Edward Clarke Parish (so Elisabeth would have been EC Parish's cousin). I think Paris is most likely the same surname as Parish and therefore that these were two branches of the same family. This is further supported that they were both involved in the clothing industry (clothiers on the Parish side, broderers on the Paris side).
Career
There are apprenticeship records around 1704-1705 listing
Joseph Paris as a master in the
Broderer's Company. This might be the same person as the Paris/Parish families in my tree seem to have been related to linen, drapery etc. We also find an apprenticeship for a
Nathaniel Paris "son of Joseph, citizen and broderer" which I think confirms that Joseph was indeed a broderer.
Noted as of 'All Hallows Honey Lane' in a
Boyd's Inhabitants of London & Family Units record.
