Early Life
Anne Landman was the daughter of
Henry Landman and
___; she was born around 1650. The name of her father is given in
this document (page 72). Whilst her marriage record (dated 1676) indicates she was aged 26 when she married (hence born in 1650), there is a baptismal record for an Anne Landman on the 9th Feb 1648 at
St Mary Breadman, Canterbury with father listed as "Hendrye". It's hard to be sure whether this is the same person or not.
That same Henry had another daughter called Susan, baptised in 1653; in that record his wife is recorded as Sarah.
It seems that Anne had a brother, Henry, who married (also in Hackington, where Anne later married
Simon Gipps) Ann Halsnoad in November 1675.
We can also see that an Anne Bunce married a Henry Landman: there are two dates, 16 Feb 1659/60 at Ashford St Mary, and 18 Feb 1660/61 at Wye St Gregory. The Bunce family is connected to the Gipps family via Simon Gipps' aunt, who married James Bunce.
