Early Life
We find a baptismal record for a
Christopher Darnton, born 25
th Dec 1674 and baptised 10
th Jan 1674/5. His father his given as
George Darnton, of
Lower Headrow. The baptism was performed at St Peter's, which re-occurs in baptisms down the pedigree so gives me some confidence that this is the correct person.
Family Life
Christopher married
Susannah Flather on the 19
th of August 1703 at
St Peter's in Leeds. At the time, he is described as '
of Briggate', a
neighbourhood in Leeds. Christopher and Susannah had:
- Elizabeth, b. 1704
- Sarah, b. 1705
- Joseph, b. 1706
- An un-named daughter, b. 1709
- John, b. c. 1710 and who married Anne Scurr in 1737
There was probably at least one other child between Joseph and John but I have not found the baptismal records.

Christopher died on the 2
nd of February 1739 in Leeds.
