  • Notes
    • Early Life
Born c. 1715 (so married at 23, first child at 24, last child at 38).

Can't find a baptismal record for Anne, but there's an Elizabeth Scurr b. 1710 in Leeds, father John (baptised Presbyterian). Also a Samuel Scurr, b. 1710 in Leeds, father Samuel (also Presbyterian).

A couple of Ancestry trees have her parents as William Scurr and Anne Gipson, with no evidence. this link mentions a William Scurre and Anne Gibson who married on 7 Oct 1657 at Terrington, which is NE of York and nowhere near Leeds.

Same trees suggest she was the Anne Scarr born to William Scarr of Thirsk, on the 24th November 1715. Again, Thirsk is a long way from Leeds.

For now, I'm marking her a Brick Wall as I don't see a way of being at all certain about who her correct parents were.

      Family Life
Anne Scurr married John Darnton on the 30th of June 1737 at St Peter's in Leeds. They had eight children (see the profile for her husband John for details).

      Death
Currently unknown, but an Anne Darnton registered a will in Leeds on December 1761 (she would have only been 45 which is a bit young). This also corresponds quite nicely to the possible will of her husband John, dated 1760.
