  • Notes
    • Early Life
Robert Banks was born on the 27th of March 1630 at Beck Hall in Giggleswick, Yorkshrie; he was the son of the Rev. Robert Banks of Beck Hall and Anne Pudsey.

      Career
Burke's Extinct Peerage1 has him a clergyman, but Landed Families disputes this, suggesting he was probably a lawyer.

      Family Life
Robert married Margaret Frankland, the daughter of John Frankland and the sister of Richard Frankland.

Per Landed Families they married c. 1649 (when he would have been 19 and she c. 17 - that same source give her dates as 1632-1700).

      Death
Ancestry trees have him dead on 27 Sep 1711, with no sources. I have a burial record for a Robert Banks at Worksop St Mary & St Cutberts for that date which I'll use, depending on Landed Families which gives the same date and place of burial.
