    • Early Life
      Ann Andrews was born c. 17311. Ancestry trees pick her parents as Edward Andrews and Anne Hammond, but I've yet to research this line, outside of the following three possible baptisms:
      a) 4 Jun 1731 at Hythe St Leonard, to Edward Andrews and Anne
      b) 12 jun 1732 in Kent to James Andrews and Elizabeth
      c) 14 Nov 1731 in Wittersham, to Edward Andrews and Ann

      The parents given in a) are also given in this blog page.

      Family Life
      Ann married Henry Gipps, of Saltwood, Kent on the 29th of April 1756 at St Mary the Virgin in Dover, Kent.

      Death
      Ann died in November 1807 and was buried on the 11th in Saltwood. Her will, dated 27th April 1803 (and proved in London 6th February 1808) bequeathed:

      • One third share of her estate to her son Henry Gipps
      • One third to her daughter Elizabeth Gipps the wife of John Bolland
      • One third to her grandchildren Elizabeth, Ann, George and Henry Gipps, the children of her deceased son George Gipps
      • £50 to her grand-daughter Ann Bolland, the wife of George Field
      • 10 guineas to her late servant Mary Hilbourn, the wife of Samuel Cross of Hythe

      [1] Her year of birth is given in the parish record for her marriage, wherein she is stated to have been aged 24 in April 1756.
