Notes
It is through Emilia that a lot of links open up back to Scottish and English royalty. Through the Stewart line (Earls of Moray and Lords Doune) you get to King James V of Scotland and ultimately to Henry VII of England. Though Emilia's mother Anna Henderson you get to Robert II of Scotland and many old Baronial families. And lots of intermarriage.
Early Life
Emilia Stewart was the daughter ofArchibald Stewart , brother to the Earl of Murray [Moray].The History of Antigua1 says "dau. of Archibald, son of James, 3rd Earl of Moray, a descendent of James, King of Scotland".Miscellanea Genealogica2 refers to her father as "Hon. Archibald Stuart of Dunearn, son of James, 4th Earl of Moray". Her mother wasAnna Henderson .
I've been unable to find birth or death records for Emilia. Her birth was most likely between 1673 and 1680 (to make her younger than her husband but still at least 21 at time of marriage). Looking at gaps between siblings, she could have been born in 1673 (between John and Anna), or possibly between 1676 and 1677 (between Francis and Elizabeth), or possibly in 1679/1680.
Death
Emilia must have died after about 1717, which is five years after the date of birth of Robert, the last son with a known date of birth (she had 5 more children after Robert).
