• Notes

  Lovelace Gylby was only son and heir to his father Williamm. Lovelace was born c. 1689. Death From his memorial: Nigh herunto lie the remains of Captain Lovelace Gylby, son of Colonel William Gylby, sometime Lt. Governor of the town and port of Hull who departed this life September 11th 1745 aged 56 leaving behind Margaret, his second wife, the daughter of Mr Jonathan Midgley of this town. Margaret, his daughter who died June 12th 1747 aged 12 years and 11 months also here interred. Margaret Gylby commanded this memorial to be erected. Per FMG1 Margaret was his only daughter.
