Early Life
Rachael Wadsworth was the youngest daughter of
Johnathan Wadsworth, a merchant and trader from
Horbury in Yorkshire West Riding, and
Phoebe Kirby; she was born on the 11
th of March 1689/90 and baptised on the 17
th of June 1692 at
St Peter & St Leonard in Horbury.
Familiae Minorum Gentium2 suggests that the
Wadsworths were "of the Wadsworths or Wordsworths of Falthwaite, near Stainborough". The Wordsworths of Falthwaite were the progenitors for William Wordsworth, the poet. However I have not found any way to link this Wadsworth line back to the Wordsworths of Falthwaite, beyond this suggestion in
FMG.
Family Life
Rachael married
Jacob Hansson Busk, a Swedish wool merchant who became a naturalised English citizen, on the 2
nd of February 1715 at
Hooton Pagnell in Yorkshire West Riding. See
Jacob's entry for more details on the family. Rachael's sister Elizabeth married Richard Halstead who was the vicar at Hooton Pagnell - perhaps he performed the wedding ceremony.
Death
Rachael died on the 4
th of October 1766

[3] As per Familiae Minorum Gentium, volume 1, page 10, but Ancestry trees instead have 4 Oct 1760, so one of the two sources misread a 6 for a 0 or vice-versa. Burke's (6th Edition, vol 1, p242) says 1760; I pick FMG as my source.
