Early Life
Arabella's mother was called Elizabeth (see Family Life below) but we don't know her surname; the family was from
Oldcastle in County Meath.
The English family may be related to the Inglis of Scotland. See p.175 of MS 107 at the National Library of Ireland:

A letter from Arabella's mother Elizabeth, to Thomas Greer of Dungannon, dated 20
th December 1765, is available at PRONI (D1044/86); I haven't accessed the original but the catalogue entry summarises:
Elizabeth English, Oldcastle to Thomas Greer, Dungannon. James Pillar made a proposal for our daughter Bell, and I wish to know your opinion of his character.
Note that James Pillar's mother was a Greer (Mary).
