    • Early Life
      William Mowat was born in around 1712, baptised at St Nicholas Aberdeen on the 10th of April that year, son of William Mowat and Christian Mowat (probably cousins).

      Career
      Wikipedia lists William as provost of Aberdeen from 1754 to 1756.

      Family Life
      William married Jean Osborn and they had a phenomenal number of children (13 at least, many dying young):
