• Notes

  Career & Family Life Appears to have been a Captain in the 91st Argyllshire Highlanders. Mentioned in the will of Matthias Kerrison (d. 1827) where he is 'of Lakenham in Norwich/Norfolk). Doesn't appear to have had any children. From reader email, 2nd October 2021: Henry Burtsal, Marianne’s brother, joined the army in his youth and was in South Africa with the Kelsos [his sister Marianne married Robert Kelso]. However, he didn’t go on to India and left the army in 1804, after which he farmed in various places, married but had no children and ended up living in Rose Hall in the 1840s.
