Gerald worked at the Bureau of Land Management in Eugene, Oregon from 1956 to 1987 where he was a forester and then a supervisor of Timber Sales. He was reknown for providing outstanding job performances and leadership. His career choice in life was a perfect fit for his love of the outdoors. He also enjoyed duck hunting, dog training and always a good athletic competition. His greatest love was for his family. Gerald was predeceased by his wife Gloria and son Peter. He leaves his daughter Frances Anderson and son-in-law Bart of Seattle, his son David and daughter-in-law Kimber of Seattle, his daughter Cecilia Lively and son-in-law John of Gig Harbor; grandchildren Andrew Johnson, Haley and Julia Anderson, Casie, Ben and Dan Lively. He was a loyal and devoted husband for over 60 years to his wife Gloria.
